Before creating your Data Visualisation from the scenario above, we are going to look at data dictionaries.

Let's consider some of your topics chosen from the other day. What types of data did you collect?
Interpreting Data
On Page 297 of you Text book - Choose 2 out of the 4 Scenarios and:
1. Create a data dictionary first.
2. Calculate what the question requires from you.
3. Create a visualisation, ensure you are not just using the figures to display data. Try to use the calculations you work out in the question and make sure your visualisation is relevant!
Upload your data dictionary and visualisation on compass by the end of the class. (You can also show me your data dictionary if you put it in your book to get checked off on compass.)

Answer the following in a word document:
1. Click onto the Victoria link. How many deaths can be directly attributed to smoking (number and percentage)
2. What is the most common cause of death amongst smokers?
3. Click onto the statistics for Frankston (Metropolitan area). How many deaths can be directly attributed to smoking (number and percentage)
4. What is the most common cause of death amongst smokers in Frankston?
5. Compile a table in Excel which shows the region, the total number of deaths, deaths from smoking and the percentage for the regions of Horsham, Loddon, Mansfield, Murrindindi, Mildura and Benalla.

6. Create a data dictionary of all the different data and their types you have collected.
7. From your data, compile a annnotated diagram on how you would represent which shows the deaths from smoking for each region as compared with the whole of Victoria.
8. Create your Data Visualization from your layout digram.
